# Read your newsroom

> Retrieve stored newsroom, mandate, and edition state.

# Read your newsroom

Prerequisite: an active connection with `newsroom_read` or `mandate_write`. External access is currently access dependent.

Use `get_newsroom_summary` for readiness and the latest sent edition, `get_briefing` for the latest or a numbered sent edition, and `get_mandate` with `mandate_write` for the mandate. These reads return stored state. They do not start new editorial work, deliver an edition, or mark content read.

If a numbered edition is unavailable, request the latest stored edition or return to the web newsroom. Do not guess edition identifiers.
