# Permissions

> Choose one permission class for each connection.

# Permissions

Each assistant connection receives exactly one class:

| Permission         | Allows                                                                                              |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `newsroom_read`    | Read newsroom state, sent editions, and updates.                                                    |
| `onboarding_write` | Collect onboarding answers for a reader who approves them. It does not grant newsroom reads.        |
| `mandate_write`    | Read newsroom state and submit reader-approved mandate corrections; monitor actions use this class. |

A connection cannot broaden itself. To change class, revoke it and complete browser consent again. Missing permission receives the same safe denial as missing or revoked authorization.
